Dr James Moran has worked in the area of applied ecology and agri-environmental management for 15 years. During this time he has worked in various roles in private, public and semi state bodies as an educator, farm advisor and researcher.

Currently employed as a Lecturer in Ecology and Environmental Science at IT Sligo, his main research interests include agro-ecology; High Nature Value (HNV) farmland; sustainable rural development; agri-environment scheme design; biodiversity and ecosystem services.

He is a principle investigator in the Centre for Environmental Research Innovation and Sustainability, leading ITSligo’s involvement in a number of national and international projects.
